Axe Valley Runners had a strong showing at multiple running events over the weekend, showcasing their talent and determination.
On Sunday, the Grand Canal Canter half-marathon took place in Tiverton.
The event, which runs along the Grand Western Canal towpath, saw many AVRs participate, likely motivated by the extra championship points available.
The day started with a light mist at 8am, but the sun soon broke through.
Georgie Ryan completed the first race with a personal best of 2:08.59, finishing in 75th place.
The second race began at 10.45am, attracting eight more AVRs.
Jason Potter was the first AVR to cross the finish line, securing fourth place and first in the M35 category with a personal best of 1:36.11.
He was closely followed by Simon McClellan, who finished sixth in 1:39.18.
Luke Freathy came in 12th at 1:52.01, while Jo Orsman finished 29th at 2:13.35.
Bob Carter placed 30th in 2:15.16, Cath Brenton came 38th in 2:33.59, and Shuna George and Baz Chandra finished 44th and 45th, respectively, both completing the race in just under 2 hours and 49 minutes.
Matt Frost participated in the Exeter City Community Trust Halloween 10 miler, a scenic course around the Exe Valley River Park.
He used it as part of his marathon training, completing a 10-mile warm-up beforehand.
He aimed for a marathon pace but ended up running at "a dream marathon pace," finishing fourth in an impressive 1:01.29.
Jeremy and John Larcombe took on The Stickler, a tough ten-mile race in Dorset that includes three high peaks.
Jeremy finished 128th in 1:32.42, while John completed the course in 2:09.52, finishing 431st.
Angela Kerr completed her third marathon in two months at Marathon Eryri in Snowdonia on Saturday.
She finished in 5:33.44, placing 593rd among females.
Ragnhild Richards took on the Kaş half marathon in Turkey, finishing in 2:16.32, just two seconds off her last year’s time.
Louise Rawlins and her family participated in the Halloween Twilight 5k in Haldon Woods, finishing 33rd, 34th, and 35th in 36:51.
At Seaton parkrun, Ritchie Durrant and Kerry Board secured first places in their respective categories, while several others achieved personal bests.
AVRs also participated in various parkruns across the country, showcasing their commitment to running.
