Honiton Hornets Women’s Hockey Club has started the season on a high note.
The team achieved an impressive 4-0 victory against North Devon's second team in Barnstable in their opening match.
This was followed by a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Minehead, placing them as early contenders in the league.
In their first match, Honiton Hornets demonstrated dominance from the beginning.
The team showcased excellent teamwork, with standout performances from Abbie Empson, Sophie George, and Amy Phillips, who scored vital goals leading to the commendable win.
The second match was more competitive, with Honiton Hornets earning a 2-2 draw in a strong encounter against Minehead.
Despite the challenging opposition, Niamh George and Kath Empson made crucial saves, ensuring the game remained tied, and securing a valuable point for the team.
A dedicated group of home supporters backed the team, expressing pride in their teamwork and resilience, which resulted in a well-deserved draw.
