The Honiton Golf Club's Festival week saw a series of keenly contested events, starting with a Pro-Am Competition.
The competition took place on Sunday, September 1.
Professional golfer James Ruth outperformed his peers, delivering an impressive five under-64 victory, while Kevin Harper finished second with a 67.
In the team Pro-Am, a Stableford format competition, the quartet of Kevin Harper, Martin Allen, Barry Dunn, and Steve Heath triumphed with 87 points, just edging out the team of Adrian Cave, Steve Key, Stew Slater, and Julian Phillips.
A Men’s Open that took place on Monday, September 2, saw Brian Thompson emerge victorious with 39 points, ahead of Neil Aikman and Geoff Fidler both tied on 37 points.
Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse and both the Seniors Open and the Mixed Open had to be cancelled due to inclement weather.
By Saturday, September 7, the skies had cleared, allowing for a Texas Scramble game between two players.
Out of 138 entrants, three pairs were tied on the winning score of 61 points, but Ross Latchem and Jason Lovering took the trophy home after a 3-under victory and a better back 9.
The third place was claimed by Simon Budden and Richard Hill.
In addition to the sporting achievements of the day, the event managed to raise over £700 for the Captain's charities.
