Members of the Axe Valley Runners (AVR) club significantly shone at the Bridgwater half marathon event.
Ryan Snell led the pack, finishing eighth and securing second place in the M40 category with a time of 1.18.57.
Dawn Carrah and Jacqui Stokes also had successful runs, with Carrah coming second in the F60 and Stokes reaching a personal best (PB) with an impressive finish time of 1:43:07, placing her 91st overall.
Newcomer to the half marathon circuit, Lee Brooker, made his debut and came in 302nd amongst 439 participants, with a finish time of 2:13:23.
In addition to personal records, AVRs were also eyeing points for the club championship, as the half marathon contributes to open events.
Over at Woodbury Common, six AVR members participated in a trail 10k on Sunday.
Eleanor Wood put up a solid performance by coming second overall among the female runners and earning first place in the F60 category, marking a time of 56:49.
Similarly, Graham Newton also topped the M60 category.
Notable improvements were seen from Zoe Harp who outran her last year’s timing by a whopping 13 minutes, clocking in at 1:07:59.
The City to Sea marathon also saw AVR representation, with James Hawker finishing the mostly trail marathon at a commendable 37th place from 140 participants, clocking a time of 5:22.36.
Ann Coston and Ragnhild Richards opted for the half marathon, taking a more relaxed approach due to Ann’s recent injury.
Both savoured the scenic route from Dawlish Warren to Babbacombe Down, finishing the journey in 3:15:43.
The Seaton parkrun was bursting with energy with AVR members dominating the finish line.
Mike Wadsworth recorded a personal best of 21:39 with 77 per cent on the age grade.
Rob Harp and Mark Parsons etched new PBs too.
Meanwhile, Louise and Aaron Rawlins took parkrun tourism to the next level, finishing their race near Amsterdam at the Zegerplas parkrun.
Keeping with the parkrun theme, Anthony and Adrianne Mullins, holidaying in Spain, joined the running club, Los Bandidos in Mojacar, Costa Almería.
They completed a 5k run on the stunning Paseo del Mediterraneo, followed by refreshments at a local cafe.
Also, deserving of special mention is Innes Fitzgerald finishing fourth in the 3000m final at the World Athletics U20 Championships final in Lima, Peru, securing a new PB time of 8:57.01.
Furthermore, Jake Smith made his racing comeback, securing second place at the Vitality Big Half in preparation for the Berlin marathon due later this month.
