A thrilling competition finale took place at Axminster Bowls Club over the weekend.
The event, which was held on August 24-25, began under gloomy clouds on Saturday morning, transitioning to hot sunshine later in the day.
Ken Webster and Bob Sherborne pandemic their skills in the Open 4 Wood singles game, with Bob ultimately declaring victory.
Meanwhile, Martyn Dash triumphed over Bob Murphy in the non-winners 4 wood singles, which was designed for new bowlers.
The afternoon brought further exhilaration with the mixed-drawn pairs game facing Val Mellor and Allan Gyngell off against Phillipa White and Kenny Walburn, achieved by Val and Allan.
The men's 2 wood singles game saw Ken Webster overcoming veteran Jack Hare.
Sunday morning dawned warm and sunny.
Captain Allan Gyngell confronted Jack Hare in the mixed 101 game, eventually losing by just 2 shots.
Ken Webster and Bob Sherborne fiercely competed for the men’s 4 wood singles title, which was claimed by Ken.
The afternoon saw the weather turn colder, yet spectators remained engaged with the excellent men's 4 wood-drawn pairs game between Jack Hare and David Harris and Allan Gyngell and Ken Webster.
The thrilling game ended with a score of 18 all after 21 ends, before Jack and David narrowly won the extra end.
Recognition was given to all players for producing such an impressive game.
