The points collected from their last home league match of the season mean that Uplyme are almost assured of keeping their place in the Devon League Division C East.
Despite the game being restricted to thirty overs because of a wet start, over four hundred runs were scored with a player from each side achieving centurion status.
The lynchpin of the Uplyme innings was Australian all-rounder Preston Hilless who recorded 113 with some blistering shots to all parts of the ground. His total was made from 65 balls and included over 80 in boundaries, seven sixes and ten fours.
With several other home batters reaching double figures, Uplyme were able to amass 241 with Ed Maynard being the pick of the visiting bowlers.
In reply, Exmouth lost early wickets but when the highly profitable alliance of Sam Radford and Rich McCann came together, the score quickly moved forward.
Radford, keen to punish any short or over-pitched deliveries, carried his bat to finish on 105 at the close and McCann made 59 before he was caught off the bowling of Jerry Simms.
Gareth Stoneman again bowled well for Uplyme, picking up one wicket for only twelve runs from his six overs and Simms finished with 2-12 from the last over of the game.
Uplyme travel to Exeter II for their last league match on Saturday (1.00 p.m. start).
On Sunday they play Kilmington in the final of the East Devon T20 Bash. The game is being played at Kilmington with a 2.00 p.m. start.
