A comfortable 4-1 win at Torridgeside took unbeaten Sidmouth Town to the top of Peninsula League East.
They took a commanding 3-0 lead before the break and never looked in danger of missing out on maximum points.
Nathan Cooper was instrumental in setting up the first goal after 29 minutes when he provided the assist for Louis Jagger Cane to score.
Craig Veal then netted his first goal for the club to make it 2-0 and minutes later he added his second after more good work from Jagger Cane.
The home side pulled one back with a header on the far post with 20 minutes remaining but in the closing minutes Sidmouth substitute Kieran White had the last say after another good team move.
Meanwhile Axminster Town, after experiencing team raising problems at the start of the season, have appointed a new manager and hope to be back in league action at the end of the month.
Taking charge of The Tigers is Mark Scott, an ex-player, who has also played in the past for other local clubs including Chard Town. Recently he had a successful time managing Forton Rangers.
Commented Axminister chairman, Andrew Hurford, said: “Appointing someone that lives locally has always been on the agenda. We are hoping now that with Mark in place he can bring some stability to the club.”
