Seaton Tennis Club celebrated its 40th annual tournament with an electrifying finals day.
During the tournament, held on July 21, a new winner took home the coveted Ladies' Singles title, with Becs Hudson soundly defeating current champion Jen Rose, 6-3 6-0.
In the Men’s Singles, reigning champion Stuart Loudwell faced a formidable opponent in club coach Joe Waters.
After a nail-biting first set, Waters attacked with devastating hits to seize the second set 6-2.
However, a powerful start in the final tiebreak helped Loudwell clinch the championship and retain the title.
Jen Rose made a commendable showing with her tenth consecutive appearance in the Ladies' Doubles Final.
Partnering with top junior Zanna Newsholme, Rose tributed an excellent performance against Julie Hopkinson and Jo Little, concluding the match victoriously.
Kevin Davis and Chris Rose won the Men's Doubles title in a closely contested match with Barry Follett and Iain Horlock.
Mixed Doubles had Rose appearing for the last time that day.
Coordinating with Kevin Davis, the duo battled reigning champions Becs Hudson and her father Geoff Westall.
Their team-play won them the game 7-5, 6-3.
The club celebrated the end of Jane Barribal's three-year winning streak in the Plate competition's Ladies' Singles, with club chairman Jenny Moroz bagging the title.
Jamie Clayton, meanwhile, had a hard-fought win over youngster Alex Graves to cinch his first title.
Yet, it wasn't a quiet day for Barribal and Graves.
Both turned the game around in Plate Doubles.
Barribal paired up with Justine Fraser to dominate the Ladies' Doubles.
She then teamed with her son Owen, seizing the Mixed Doubles.
Graves and Toby Taylor efficiently defeated Richard Griffith and Glayson Cardoso Da Silva in the Men's Doubles.
Seaton Tennis Club have been offering some of the best facilities in the region and a full programme of coaching for both juniors and adults, under head coach Joe Waters
