The Axe Valley Runners (AVRs) have celebrated another busy week, with members participating in races across England and Wales.
One of the main events was the Otter River and Rail 10k race, which took place on Saturday morning.
Located in Tipton St John, competitors could enjoy the stunning scenic views of Otter Valley, despite the challenging, and at times muddy, terrain.
The race saw a strong turnout from the AVRs, registering as a significant chunk of the 230 competitors.
Colin Densham of South West Road Runners emerged victoriously, clocking in at 38.41, swiftly followed by Ellie Dominey at 42.37.
The first AVR to reach the finish line was Simon Dimmock with an impressive time of 44.40.
More notable was that Simon had already exerted himself at the Seaton parkrun earlier in the day.
AVR's Eleanor Wood's performance at the 10k was worth celebrating, as she clinched the F65 category, finishing the race in 39th position, clocking in at 49.19.
Others highlighted for their outstanding performances were Nicky Lincoln and Becky Wills, who delivered praiseworthy performances in their first-ever 10k races, having recently graduated from the club's Couch to 5K programme.
On Wednesday evening, the AVRs were busy again, attending the fourth in a series of six, 5k races held in Yeovilton.
Among the competitors were Eleanor Wood, who took first in F65 with a time of 22.54, and Angela Kerr coming in as the second F65 in 27.09.
On the men's side, Rich Hardy secured third M40, completing his run in 16.49.
Returning to the theme of parkruns, Seaton's event on Saturday morning saw 223 finishers, including Harry McMahon, who ranked second with a time of 18.38, marking his 100th milestone.
Other triumphant AVRs included Alison Hayward, another stalwart member who also celebrated her 100th parkrun.
Several members chose to venture further, completing a variety of parkruns in different areas.
Notably, Pam Goddard and Cliff Marriott completed the Chippenham Playing Fields parkrun in Monmouth, while Gill and Jon Day ran the Sharpham Fields parkrun near Cheddar.
These recent accomplishments highlight the strong collective performance of the AVRs, who continue to excel and illustrate their dedication to running, furthering their successes and growth within the regional running community.
