Honiton secured a thrilling victory against Upottery, clinching a maximum 20-point haul.
Over the weekend, the home side welcomed their neighbours to Mountbatten with high hopes, despite a somewhat unpredictable weather forecast according to the Met Office.
Skipper Steve Haysom was surprised when Upottery chose to bat first after winning the toss.
Harry Haysom and Will Smith took charge of Honiton's bowling, maintaining tight lines and keeping Upottery under pressure in the first ten overs.
Upottery suffered their first blow when their score stood at 15 as Smith expertly bowled P Strawbridge for five runs.
Continuing their firm bowling campaign, Haysom and Smith restricted boundary hits, and Upottery found themselves with a second wicket down at a modest 23.
S Dawkins was bowled by Harry Haysom and despite skipper A Pullman scoring a boundary with his first ball, Upottery struggled to build momentum.
Their third wicket fell to Dan Hooper, who bowled B Rich out for a score of zero, caught by Harry Haysom.
T Wyatt managed to look comfortable at the crease before he was caught by George Marcou at the covers for 16, bowled by Harry Court.
The Hosts then made a vital breakthrough when Harry Court struck, stunningly claiming four of the remaining wickets and concluding with bowling figures of 5/20.
Upottery wrapped up their innings all-out at 81, courtesy of Court's man-of-the-match performance and effective contributions from Dan Hooper, Harry Haysom and Will Smith.
Captain Steve Haysom and Nathan Groves opened batting for Honiton promisingly, notching 18 runs in just four overs.
However, Groves soon fell for three runs and was substituted by Harry Haysom.
The pair were steady with their batting, and despite Harry being LBW to Rich for nine runs, Honiton confidently crossed the halfway mark reaching 36-2.
The next batsman Andy Empson despite having already scored a 50 this season, was given out LBW, leaving the score precariously at 40-3.
Honiton's Will Smith then stepped in determinedly at the crease.
Smith, in a commendable partnership, scored 24 runs not out from 36 balls, ensuring victory for Honiton and garnering the maximum 20 points available.
Upottery finished with just three.
The man of the match was fittingly awarded to Harry Court for his excellent 5/20 bowling spell.
Honiton's successful day was also attributable to Jim Tucker, who skillfully umpired at both ends and Nathan Groves for his match report.
Honiton is set to host Exmouth 3rds next week, armed with the confidence and high morale from their impressive display against Upottery.
