Uplyme & Lyme Regis secured their first league victory of the season against Heathcoat II.
Despite showers and tough ground conditions, both teams provided an entertaining match.
Uplyme's win, coupled with other teams not playing, nudged them into a comfortable midtable position.
The Uplyme team, led by skipper Sam Farrow, decided to bat first in the weather-restricted thirty-over match.
They got off to an active start with opener Preston Hilless making 26 runs, while Joe Elsworth's introduction added momentum.
Elsworth was integral to the final total, scoring an impressive 81 off 58 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes.
Notable mentions also go to Martin Langford and Steve Batey who made 27 and 20 runs respectively.
Heathcoat II failed to achieve the necessary run rate, struggling against Uplyme's tight bowling and fell to a precarious 52 for seven.
Some middle order progression was made by Lee Dixon, 22, and Josh Kallaway, 14.
Lahiru Abeywickrama of Uplyme made things harder for Heathcoat with figures of (3-31) in five overs, supported well by Max Felgate (2-13) and Steve Batey (2-5).
Three catches were claimed by Mark Batey displaying his steady hand.
Heathcoat II eventually crumbled for a total of 86 runs, leaving several overs untouched.
The final score in the Devon Cricket League C Division East game was Uplyme & Lyme Regis 200-5 (20pts), beating Heathcoat II (4pts) 86 by 114 runs.
Uplyme will now look forward to next weekend's fixture against Ottery St Mary.
