Stopline Way Junior parkrun celebrated its 50th run and 1st birthday in style at Axminster Town FC.
Runners, their families, and volunteers enjoyed a fabulous postrun Stopline Way Junior parkrun celebration cake made by Kristina West (Knapp Cottage Cakes) and delicious vegan treats made by volunteer Wendy le Masurier.
Co-Event Director Sarah Shepley thanked volunteers, runners, parents and carers, Axminster Town FC, and the parkrun's startup cost funders for making the run such a success.
Sarah said: "We've welcomed 197 junior parkrunners, who have completed 857 Stopline Way Junior parkruns between them. Our core team comprises about 20 volunteers but 82 people have volunteered in total. As long as the course is safe, we run in all weathers.
"As we also have an amazing turnout of parents, carers and brothers and sisters every week, it's a wonderful community atmosphere and a great start to Sunday. We're so grateful to all the funders who helped us get started and we're really looking forward to our second year."
The Stopline Way Junior parkrun is a free, timed, fully marshalled 2km run for 4 to 14 year-olds that takes place at Axminster Town FC on Sundays at 9am.
