Honiton bowls club member Sue Evans played the final of the County 4 Wood Singles against Liz Smerdon at South Molton but lost 14-21, despite some excellent bowls. Both Sue and Liz now go to Leamington and play on Sunday, August 20.

In the Men’s County Top Club Quarter Finals Competitions played at Honiton against a team from Plymouth North Down, the visitors from Plymouth proved to be the stronger team and now go on to play in the semi-finals. 

Honiton hosted teams from Bridport, Budleigh Salterton, Chardstock, Feniton, Madeira, Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth for the Ladies Invitation Match.   

This is run in a round robin formal, playing three ends and then move on, the winners being Bridport on a fine day of bowls for all participants. Everyone enjoyed a lovely cream tea, which was served by Daphne Courtney and Di Hawkins.
