There has been a significant upturn in the Feniton Bowls Club fortunes this last week. In the over 60s Men’s Triples league, both teams won.
The Hawks defeated local rivals Ottery St Mary by 41-30, the winning rink was P Eells, A Murdoch and G Phillips 26-11. The Eagles travelled to Pinces Garden B and won convincingly by 41-21. The winning rinks were D Downs, R North and D Coyne 23-7 and P Lawlor, C Jacob and R Clarke 18-14.
In the Ladies Triples League, Feniton continued their pressure on the top teams by defeating Culm Vale convincingly by 46-29, the winning rink was A Coyne, J Smith and D Bowden 35-7.
However, the mixed team’s woes in the East of Exe League continued with a defeat away at Tiverton West End by 57-74. The only winning rink was G Blackmore, D Downs, John Holmes and R Smith 20-15.
The mixed friendly team lost a closely contested match away at Wellington by 67-76, despite winning on three of the four rinks, The winning rinks were B Bowden, A Coyne and R Smith 21-18, P Lawlor, J Mackintosh and A Kury 17-14 and J Smith, C Jacob and G Phillips 18-16.
