Honiton Swimming Club enjoyed more great success at the Devon Development and Sprint Galas held at the Plymouth Life Centre, clocking up 62 races between 12 swimmers.
There were a whole host of Personal Best performances from the swimmers and Head Coach, Ralph Watson, was delighted with the ‘abundance’ of progress from all swimmers.
Notable performances were Bronze medals for Imogen (1500m Freestyle), Julia (200m Breaststroke), Hamish (100m Breaststroke) and Duncan (50m Breastroke & 50m Butterfly), plus Silver medals for Esme (1500m Freestyle), Hamish (50m Freestyle) and Keir (50m Breastroke). Wilbur also put in a fine display in his first competitive gala for the club.
After a fine weekend of swimming against some of the biggest and best clubs in the region, the Honiton female team finished third in the team standings. A great achievement that the only clubs above them were Exeter City and Plymouth Leander, the two biggest clubs in the region, well done Isabel, Lily F, Lily C, Lacey, Imogen, Esme, Katie and Julia.
Coach Ralph was full of praise for all the swimmers for their continued positivity throughout the weekend and, despite swimming against much bigger clubs, they were not intimidated at all and showed great confidence in their swimming.
