Honiton Ladies Carol Binmore, Lynda Dommett, Sue Evans, Rosemary Hirons, Shirley Hiscocks, Yvonne Rayner, Sue Willcox and Yvonne Williams traveled to Nottingham to play in the Finals of the National Championships Mason Trophy.   

In an evening Semi-Final match, Honiton played a team from Cambridge Chesterton and won a hard fought match, 38 points to 23. The following afternoon, Honiton played a team from Nottingham in the final. In another close match, with only eight points between the teams, as Honiton just missed out on the title, 29 – 37.

Congratulation to the ladies for a fine performance.

In the last Mixed Friendly match of the Indoor Season, Honiton took on Madeira at home and lost 43 – 50. Top rink for Honiton: B Cursley, J Foxwell, B Sherborne and G Osborne, 20 – 12.

The Outdoor season began at Honiton with the Opening of the Rink on April 16.
