Dave Carnall won the Winter Saturday Circus at Honiton Golf Club. In this event, names are put in a hat and drawn at random, so it’s a great way to involve new members with all types of handicaps.
Each week, players are awarded six points for winning, going down to one point for finishing sixth and after 14 rounds of golf in all weathers, it was Carnall who came out on top with 35 from John Tierney in second with 26 and third was Mark Parkinson on 25.
John Tierney also won the prize for most birdies in the Circus with fourteen. There is also a booby prize for the player who had the most non-scoring holes and it was Neil Pulman who not so gladly took the prize. A special thanks goes to Mark ‘Reggie’ Parkinson, who is the circus master and organised the events each week.
