Sidmouth Golf Club Seniors ran their Opening Competition in the 6,6,6 format, a three-man team recording one score over the first 6 holes, two over the next six and all three over the last six holes.
New Seniors Captain Brian Rice was pleased with the solid turnout and that the rain stayed away for his first official competition of his year.
Mark Laird, Bob Reynolds and Vernon Ruffle scored an excellent 78 to win first prize. Phil Spencer, Les Pratt and Colin Mitchell came a close second with 77 and posting 74 points were Chris Ashley, Jonty Clews and David Bromage taking third. David Atkinson won the Nearest the Pin prize on the 12th hole to secure a bottle of wine.
The club stableford competition saw Neil Holland winning with 37 points from, in second place, Anthony Griffiths on 36 and Nick Gingell took third spot with 35.
