Honiton GC Seniors took on their regular Friday competition, with the course in great condition considering the pounding it has taken.
This week, it was a Texas Scramble with a total of 48 brave souls taking part, forming 16 teams of three. The eventual winners were David Rouse, David Hughes and Paul Ritchie, who pipped Bob Graham, Adrian Bishop and Brian Phillips into second place, both being on 58.
Whilst the back 9 countback appeared to favour the latter team, once handicap allowances had been taken into account the computerised scoring system opted for Rouse and co.
In third place were the pre-event favourites, David Scott, Derek Keen and Larry Goodliffe with 61, followed by John Craig, Tom Tunnicliffe and Neil Price on 62.
The ladies competition this week was a waltz. The winning team were Sue Ritchie, Caroline Bond and Jayne Jackson with 64 points and in second place were Janet Higgins, Maureen Lawrence and Sheila Palmer with 52 points.
