Seaton Bowls Club brought down the curtain on a sunny summer season when they held the closing drive on Saturday.
Club members arrived in jovial mood and with a theme of colourful dress, 48 bowlers turned out on a lovely warm afternoon, to play an interesting format of rinks playing four ends on one rink and then moving on to another rink to play against different opponents.
There was lots of fun and laughter everybody enjoyed the afternoon. Afterward, there was a buffet meal in which the members all contributed a dish making it a wonderful spread.
Finally, club chairman Rodger Wooland presented the trophies to this year's winners and runners-up.
For bowlers up and down the country, the incredible weather we have experienced, and occasionally endured, this summer has made it a hugely successful season. The Seaton bowlers, decked in sun cream and hats, can be very proud of their efforts.
