Honiton Spinners, Tony Peek, Claire Barrow, Jennie Sleeman, Mark Griffin and Nick Gregson took on a challenging route as the first major climb was out of Gittisham by the village hall up to Putts Corner.
The route then took them down to Sidford before they tackled the formidable second major climb through Harcombe and onto Branscombe. Having faced the third major climb over to Beer, they were delighted to stop at Seaton Hole for refreshments.
From here they headed to Musbury, where, after bumping over the rutted track of a farmyard, they turned a corner to see the impressive sight of the viaduct. From here they continued to Uplyme ready to face the fourth major climb: Concorde.
After Raymond's Hill, the last major climb was from Colyton to Honiton golf club. It was an excellent ride and a tick off the bucket list. But, never again! 50 miles with nearly 5000 ft of climb.
