New AVP member Graham Newton decided to mix cycling with running and completed the Killerton Duathlon, finishing in a very creditable 8th place in the 50 plus age group.
The distances were 20 kilometres of cycling and 8 kilometres running, so a great result from Graham's first venture into this class of mixed event.
The evening weekly 10-mile time trials have continued and in the last event six riders from AVP tackled the usual course on a breezy but warm evening, mostly achieving their best times yet, with Jimmy Richards finishing 3rd overall. Times were Gary Blackett 27:53, Colin Bennett 29:20, Clive Heard 28:28, Bill Marshall 32:23, Haydn Boehm 26:46, Jimmy Richards 24:05.
The Friday evening mountain bikers have continued to explore new routes, and the many weekday leisure rides have been making the most of the mainly dry and warm weather, with several rides terminating back on Seaton beach for a well-earned picnic!
