In September, the annual Tour of Britain cycling road race will be starting this year in Cornwall for the first stage.
The Tour moves on to Devon for the second stage, which starts just east of Plymouth, loops 50 miles around the South Hams before heading up onto Dartmoor where the route includes two very hard categorised climbs.
Several AVP members are planning on riding the hardest part of the route the day before the professionals tackle it, which means a 65-mile ride over Dartmoor, taking in the same arduous climbs.
All they need now is good weather on the day.
Time trial results this week were as follows: Jimmy Richards 24'11", Jeremy Norcombe 29'02", Jonathan Read- Bone 28'31" and Clive Heard 26'48".
Well done Jeremy on his first outing this year.
