Colyton cyclist Clive Lewis at 82 has completed riding a very challenging 112 k (about 70 miles) cycle event called the Gridiron 100 in the New Forest.
The event gets its name from the very many cattle grids it crosses, and although some of the route was reasonably flat there were in fact many hills giving a total elevation of around 3000 ft.
This is a yearly event with over 900 riders participating, many riding for different charities, but Clive's reason for wanting to raise funds for Parkinson's UK is that his sister, now aged 85, was diagnosed 10 years ago. Her degree of disablement now makes life very difficult and her life is totally dominated by a very strict regime of medication and self-injection.
Clive was supported on his ride by five other members of the Axe Valley Pedallers club. Please dig deep if you can and donate via the following link www.justgiving.com/clive-lewis4
