‘Whatever the weather’ has been the mantra for Axe Valley Pedallers over the past few weeks
Club members have ventured out on a variety of local routes from Seaton, mostly heading towards a welcoming cafe for a warm up and the usual coffee and cake.
Clive Heard headed out at the weekend with three others on a challenging 46-mile ride to conquer the mighty Winyards Gap hill on the way out and the gruelling Clanden Hill on the return.
Robert and Neil needed an early return, so shortened their ride, but Jimmy Richards did a few extra miles taking, his total to 63 miles. The unusual thing about these rides were that no coffee stops were included, so perhaps Jimmy's 63 miles is a club record and all good training for the 17-mile Time Trial he took on over the following weekend.
We just hope the weather had finally turned.
