It was suggested that the club should have a Jubilee Celebration ride and that riders would use their oldest bikes and dress according to the era of their bike.
The variety of bikes and clothes made for a colourful display, as we set off from Seaton Tramway for a spiffing jaunt along the seafront, up the estuary to Colyford and back into Seaton for a picnic on the beach! The pebbles were a bit cold but all agreed they had a good time.
Club member Jimmy Richards, along with four of his work friends, will be setting off from Penzance to face a gruelling challenge of riding to Tewkesbury, a distance of 260 miles within 24 hours to raise funds for the Samaritans and the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
They are hoping to raise £10,000 to split between these very worthwhile charities. Donate by visiting the JustGiving page and search for National Highways Southwest charity cycle.
