In recognition of the recent National Bike Week, East Devon has been included in the top three of places to enjoy a special time in the saddle.
In order to encourage Brits to get out and enjoy their community by bike, one of the UK's largest marketplaces for staycation properties, has published a list of the top cyclist-friendly locations around the country.
Big-Cottages.com has published a list of the top twenty cyclist-friendly locations around the country, taking into consideration Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, number of cycling routes, local authority rates of road traffic, the square mileage for exploration, and rates of bike theft.
The top 10 cyclist-friendly locations in the UK are: Shropshire Hills, Cornwall, East Devon, Dorset, Isle of Wight, Blackdown Hills, Suffolk Coast and Heaths, Lincolnshire Wolds, North Pennines, Surrey Hills. The South Devon area was also included in the top 20.
