A new charity shop in Honiton is in need of volunteers.

The Hospiscare shop is set to open on the High Street at the beginning of December.

It will be the second Hospiscare shop in the town, with the other located on Dowell Street.

The shop will sell men's, women's, and children's clothing, as well as accessories and media.

Hospiscare cares for more than 2,000 patients every year across Devon and only receives 15 per cent of its funding from the Government.

The charity relies on the income from its shops to provide end-of-life care free of charge.

Becci Stone, Hospiscare's volunteering co-ordinator, said: "Volunteering at our new shop in Honiton is a great opportunity to meet people whilst giving back to your community.

"Whether you can spare a few hours or a few days a week, your time will help us raise vital funds to continue to care for local patients and their families across Exeter, Central and East Devon.

"If you have a passion for helping others and a friendly attitude, we’d love to hear from you."

Heather, who volunteers at the Dowell Street shop, said: "There is a lot of diversity volunteering for Hospiscare and the team are great – I have made some good friends."
