FROM November 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, you can park for up to four hours in most short stay car parks, or up until midnight in all other East Devon District Council (EDDC) car parks, for only £2.
Listening to feedback from residents about the winter offer in previous years, EDDC is introducing changes at some of the council’s busiest car parks.
At short-stay car parks in Sidmouth, Exmouth and Honiton, a four-hour maximum stay for the £2 ticket will be introduced, and this ticket will not be transferable to other car parks.
As a result of this change, it is expected that more drivers will be able to make use of the best spaces, closer to the town centres.
To apply the winter offer, use the RingGo app on your mobile, entering the location code 42976 at car parks with a four-hour limit, or 42973 at sites where you can park until midnight. Alternatively, buy a paper ticket from one of the machines using either cash or card.
With Christmas approaching, EDDC's winter car parking promotion encourages people to shop locally and support their High Street.
The EDDC encourages people to enjoy a day out this winter, explore what East Devon has to offer, without having to rush back to your car.
The reduced car park charges are expected to boost trade throughout the traditionally quieter winter season.
Councillor Sam Hawkins, EDDC's portfolio holder for finance, said: “I’m delighted that we’re continuing the popular £2 parking offer this winter. The council has reviewed how car parks were used during the previous offers and this year’s changes will make it easier for residents and visitors to get a cheap parking space.”
As well as updating the winter offer, the council is making better use of its land. For example, 61 extra spaces were added to Exmouth’s Estuary car park in July 2024.

Please note that Mamhead Slipway, and Sideshore Car Park in Exmouth, Otter Estuary Nature Reserve in Budleigh Salterton, and Lyme Street in Axminster, are not included in the offer as, whilst they are managed by EDDC, they are each owned privately.
