Mozart enthusiasts can look forward to a special evening.
The Axminster and District Choral Society is set to perform Mozart's Requiem and Solemn Vespers on November 16.
The performance will take place at 7.30pm at the Minster Church, Axminster.
The Requiem, known for its widespread acclaim, showcases Mozart's unparalleled brilliance, despite being left unfinished at his death.
Solemn Vespers, another earlier creation of Mozart, is rich in melody and creativity.
A highlight of the evening is the inclusion of Laudate Dominum, a renowned Mozart masterpiece that will be sung by both the choir and a soprano soloist.
The choir, under the baton of conductor Judy Martin, will be joined by a professional orchestra and soloists.
Following this, on December 21, the society will host a Christmas concert at 7pm, featuring the Magnificat attributed to Pergolesi.
This lively piece, full of dramatic expression and memorable melodies, will be accompanied by seasonal carols for both the choir and the audience.
In 2025, the society will celebrate its 40th anniversary, kicking off the celebrations with a performance of Haydn’s Creation on April 5.
Summer and autumn will see concerts focusing on British composers.
New members are always welcome, with more information available on the society's website.
Tickets for all concerts can be bought online at axminsterchoral.co.uk, from Archway Bookshop in Trinity Square, from choir members, or at the door on the day of the performance.
