A recent study highlighted the negative impact of Brexit has intensified over time, with 2023 showing more pronounced trade declines than previous years.
This suggests that the transition in UK-EU trade relations post-Brexit is not merely a short-term disruption but reflects deeper structural changes likely to persist.
In the run-up to the Brexit vote great political mistruths fed idealistic dreams in 52 per cent of the Nation and nightmares in the remaining 48 per cent.
Now everyone is awake to the reality created by the perfidious, populist jingoism of Farage and Johnson et al who have left a wasteland of promises and a divided Country in their wake.
A quote by John Trapp, an English writer and theologian clearly defines why the conflict it caused has continued throughout the intervening years and still divides us.
"Unity without verity is no better than conspiracy."
Or as Mark Twain said, 'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story'.
The problem here though, is Brexit wasn't even a good story in the first place!
