"Once again, our concerns for Seaton and Colyford with regard to the potential development of some 130 houses on the Green Wedge between the two communities.
"We attended a meeting of the Local Plan committee at East Devon District Council recently, and were devastated that this site has been designated for housing development.
"We are submitting photos taken on the 30th September 2024 demonstrating the serious flooding that occurred, and closed the A3052 between Colyford and Boshill Cross.
"As can be seen the Lowland area was also severely flooded. The development site sits above this area and has the potential to cause significant runoff and exacerbate what is already a serious situation.
"The site potentially can increase runoff into the Stafford Brook which, when overtopped in the past, caused the Wetlands to be under several feet of water.
"There has also been flooding from the site into a number of adjacent properties. With the risk of increased rainfall in future years, due to Global warming, we would very much like to see this site removed from the Local Plan."
