The Beer Film Society (BFS) is set to celebrate its 200th film this autumn, coinciding with a new earlier start time of 7pm.
Screenings kick off 30 minutes earlier than before, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
The milestone film, the classic Italian film Cinema Paradiso, will be shown at Mariners’ Hall on September 19.
The 1988 Oscar-winning film tells the story of a filmmaker who forms a deep bond with a cinema projectionist in his rural Sicilian hometown.
The film society stated that it's the perfect film to celebrate such a notable milestone.
As part of the autumn programme, BFS will also screen the British film The End We Start From, starring Jodie Comer on October 17.
Set against an environmental crisis that submerges London in floodwaters, Comer's character is a mother embarking on a quest to find her way home with her newborn.
On November 14, viewers will be able to watch Anatomy Of A Fall, the intense and award-winning French drama.
The film delves into suspicion and moral dilemma, as a woman whose husband dies under mysterious circumstances becomes a prime suspect, and their partially blind son grapples as the main witness.
The pre-Christmas film on December 5 promises a lighter note with Holdovers.
The film centres around a stern New England schoolteacher spending the holidays on campus with a group of students with nowhere to go, forming an unexpected friendship with a bright yet troubled pupil and with a school's cook- a woman who recently lost a son in the Vietnam War.
More information on the selected films to be announced soon.
