Honiton Carers enjoyed a scenic River Walk at Budleigh Salterton, with carefully placed benches and attractive viewing points to savour.
The ‘Walk & Chat’ activity took place on August 23, where they started from Budleigh's large car park near the seafront.
The Carers group, while not completing the entire route, strolled up to the Methodist Church on the seafront before last orders at 3pm. Additionally, they expressed appreciation for the homemade refreshments and the pleasant sunshine.
It was a significant day as it marked the first led walk for their newly trained leaders. Furthermore, the day moved to a higher octave with the Charity Commission confirming Honiton Carers Support Group’s registration as a CIO Charity with the number 1209718.
This charity status will be added to their future documents. The group is set to gather again on August 28 for an art and craft session at the Methodist Church. This time, they are eagerly looking forward to creating paper flowers and vases under the guidance of Hazel Austin.
Honiton Carers extends an open invitation to unpaid carers to join their group. For further information on their activities, interested individuals are encouraged to contact Winnie Cameron at 07974 636926 or via her email winniekjaer@btinternet.com.
