Pupils, families and staff at Cranbrook Education Campus are celebrating 'outstanding' GCSE results today (August 22).
This morning, the school announced 64% of Year 11 students achieved a pass in both English and Maths, while 100% of our students secured the qualifications needed to advance to their chosen post-16 destinations.
Year 11 students achieved an overall positive Progress score. Year 10 students who took their early entry English Literature exams this year performed exceptionally well, with 75% earning a grade 4 or higher.
The school says this marks a remarkable conclusion to the academic year which also received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted earlier this summer.
Achievements extend beyond GCSEs, with above national average results in Early Years Good Level of Development (GLD), Year 1 Phonics, the Year 4 Multiplication check, and Key Stage 2 SATs.
Today's celebrations were made even more special by the presence of our pupils from families seeking asylum, who have become valued members of the Cranbrook family in recent years.
Siobhan Meredith, executive director of education praised students for their “ambition and resilience” and noted that “school teams will be working closely with all students in the coming days to ensure they are able to take the next step of their choice, continuing to give them all the support they can towards the next stage of their journey.”
Stephen Farmer, head of campus at Cranbrook Education Campus said: "Today, we celebrate not just the impressive grades our pupils have earned, but the remarkable journey they’ve embarked on to reach this point. Their achievements reflect their unwavering commitment to our #Crantastic PERKS values of being Proud, Engaged, Ready, Kind, and Safe. They have every reason to be immensely proud of themselves. Congratulations to each and every one of our pupils! I am excited to see how you will go out into the world and make a positive impact."
Moira Marder, CEO of Ted Wragg Trust said: “Many congratulations to all the students across Devon who have collected their GCSE results today. It’s been another successful year and I cannot wait to see what our students go on to achieve next. It’s such a privilege to provide ongoing education to the young people of Devon and I hope this Year 11 cohort has a wonderful time celebrating their well-earned success today with family and friends.”
