Honiton u3a is ready to unveil its newest offerings at a High Street stall during the town market.

This comes as part of the group's efforts to promote the array of available activities provided by their 36 interest groups while introducing potential new members to the benefits of the organisation.

Conversations with committee members will provide insights into the group's mission of encouraging its members to develop and share their interests, try something new and socialise with like-minded people.

Honiton u3a enhances the well-being of seniors by facilitating the sharing of experiences and fostering friendships, empowering a more fulfilled third age.

Specifically, this summer's street stall will highlight new groups catering to a wide variety of interests, such as French and Spanish language learning, Art for Fun, Local History, Genealogy, Photography and Cribbage.

In addition, the group anticipates the introduction of even more new clubs in the autumn.

The chairman of Honiton u3a, Richard Spoerry, said: "Previous events publicising our activities have been very successful in recruiting members to Honiton u3a.

"Look out for our blue and yellow logo, and see what is on offer.

"We look forward to making more new friends!"

Honiton u3a also offers monthly illustrated talks at The Beehive.

September's talk will be headlined by Alex Leger, former producer and director of the iconic children's TV programme, Blue Peter.

He will discuss his collaborations with the military over the years, which led to some memorable on-screen moments.

Subsequent talks will feature micro-artist Graham Short, who has gained renown for engraving The Lord's Prayer on the head of a pin.

Next spring, the group is set to welcome back Todd Gray, one of its most popular regular speakers.

He will present on Devon’s Cloth Trade, discussing how Exeter became the centre of European serge production.

More information about Honiton u3a and potential membership is available on their website: u3asites.org.uk/Honiton.

Honiton town market on the High Street will take place on Saturday, August 10.
