Offensive graffiti has been sprayed on the side of Seaton's railway station.
Seaton resident Cliff Scarce said that the graffiti started on the footbridge to the East Devon Way footpath network
The spate of graffiti has been ongoing for months, and has been reported to the British Transport Police, Devon and Cornwall Police, and EDDC's graffiti removal team. It still has not been removed.
He says: "The graffiti then spread across the whole of the station frontage and includes offensive language which can be seen by everyone travelling past the station. This includes schoolchildren being bussed past there twice a day. Very distressing for local residents and summer visitors to our East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This was reported to the police who will take no action but another crime reference number was given.
The graffiti then started to appear on the station building and the old express dairy next door. This was reported to the police as antisocial behaviour, who will take no action but a crime reference number was given.
The building is privately owned and is being used as a community space, holding many events and groups. The station at Seaton Junction is privately owned and the owner has been contacted.
Seaton Junction is a disused railway station, opening in 1879. It closed in 1966.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were made aware of reports of offensive graffiti at Seaton Junction Railway believed to have been sprayed on Monday 1 July.
At this time, there are no viable lines of enquiry however if further evidence comes to light the incident can be re-visited.
