The Rotunda Gallery at Lyme Regis Museum is set to host an exhibition showcasing the work of nature journalist Alex Boon.
The exhibition, titled Mapping the Undercliffs Nature Reserve, embodies Mr Boon's passion for nature and creativity and will be held from July 23 to September 13.
An educator and artist from East Devon, Mr Boon leverages the power of sketching and journaling to explore and engage with wildlife in the area.
Learning to observe slowly and deeply, he uses exhibitions, workshops, and talks to emphasise the importance of connecting with nature.
His aim is to encourage people to connect to nature close to home through sketching, writing and identification in a sketchbook or journal.
He said: "I do this with the intention of raising the profile of this mindful activity and helping to tackle our failing connection with nature in this country.
"It is all about creating a relationship of love and care between people and their local environments and the biodiversity that lives there.
"That can develop into a strong desire to protect the places and species we love."
Open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm, the exhibition features Mr Boon's original maps, sketchbooks and more.
He will also conduct a talk and tour of his works on July 23 from 2.30-4pm.
For an immersive experience, Mr Boon will host a guided nature journaling day on September 7, with tickets available from the Museum.
The maps from the exhibit, as well as various-sized prints and handheld maps of the Undercliff section of the South West Coast Path, can be purchased from the Museum shop or his website.
To reserve a place at the talk, contact the Museum on 01297 443370 or email info@lymeregismuseum.co.uk.
