A small section of the A358 will be closed for a week, as South West Water works to 'provide a new water service.'
The road will be closed from Wednesday (July 31) and Tuesday (August 6) a small section of the A358, Chard Street outside Axe Vale Social Club will be closed from the junction at Poplar Mount, Axminster Reform Church and George Street.
The road closure is required to provide a new water supply to a customer nearby. South West Water said: "There will be no access for through traffic, but pedestrian access will be maintained.
"To ensure that disruption to customers, local businesses and traffic is kept to a minimum, a road diversion will be put in place. The diversion route will be signposted. No vehicle access, but pedestrian access will be maintained by the contractors working on the site.
They added: "Emergency services have been informed that the road is closed, as well as schools and refuse collectors. In the event of an emergency, we will work with them to provide access to any sick or injured parties."
Please contact SWW helpline on 0344 346 2020 (quoting WO10728965) or DCC Highways who have approved the traffic order.
