HEAVY rain is forecast to soak the south west as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for both Somerset and Devon.
The warning will come into effect at 8am tomorrow (Monday, July 15) and remain in place until 11:59pm.
The Met Office expects the rain to spread north throughout the day, and has advised those in the affected area to expect the following:
- There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
- Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
The warning area encompasses the entirety of Somerset and Devon, but also includes Wales, Dorset, and Cornwall.
