Seaton Primary School is set to get new outdoor play equipment thanks to a fundraising drive by the Parents, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA).
Funds raised by the PTFA have made possible the installation of a new musical play area within the designated Reception children's playground.
PTFA chair, Melanie Barrand, said: "Due to the squeeze on school budgets and rising costs of play equipment, without assistance from charities such as ours the ability of schools to provide stimulating outdoor environments that create fun and enriching experience for children is limited."
The aim behind this new musical play area is to support the school's attitudes towards inclusion and child-centred learning.
Creating an engaging play environment that stimulates all areas of development is seen as pivotal to student success.
Reception teacher, Mrs Fontes, said: "This new equipment provides the children with the opportunity to explore and ignite all areas of development, further enriching the educational play experience.
"It is a fantastic addition to the playground."
But, the PTFA's vision doesn't stop here.
On July 17, a Sponsored Summer Scramble Obstacle Course is to be held.
This collaborative fundraiser between the school and the PTFA aims to replace pieces of much-needed playground equipment.
Lizzie Rowlands, chair of governors, said: "The children are really looking forward to this fun, physical event to end their summer term.
"Many thanks to our fabulous PTFA and school team for organising and running the day, which will help raise much-needed funds for some new playground equipment."
