CHURCHILL Retirement Living will be supporting The Beehive's Nostalgic Cinema Screenings commencing from June 2024 to May 2025.
Churchill Retirement Living has one and two-bedroom retirement apartments for sale in Honiton at Otter Lodge in Silver Street.
The Dementia Friendly Cinema screenings have proven to be very therapeutic for people with memory problems and their families.
Besides engaging the brain and stimulating emotions, being part of an audience enjoying a film helps people with dementia and their carers to feel less isolated and challenges the stigma associated with the condition.
All Nostalgic Cinema performances have subtitles to assist full enjoyment of the film by any members of the audience who are hard of hearing.
Whilst promoted as a dementia-friendly screening, we hope anyone who loves the old films will come along for an afternoon of fond memories.
A spokesman for the Beehive said: "A huge thank you to Churchill Retirement for the backing, we are very excited to be working alongside Jo and her team throughout the year."
Churchill’s Senior Marketing Executive Jo Ridehalgh said: “At Churchill we believe in giving something back to the communities where we operate, so we’re delighted to be able to support The Beehive and help them deliver valuable initiatives like the Nostalgic Cinema for local people to enjoy. I’m sure it’s something our growing community of apartment Owners at Otter Lodge will be very pleased to see too!”
The next nostalgic film is on Thursday June 27at 2pm The African Queen (1951) (PG). Pop into The Beehive to collect your free Nostalgic Cinema booklet.
The monthly screenings take place every 4th Thursday of the month at 2pm. Tickets are £5 which includes a hot drink, biscuits and chat after the screening.
