The shop at Market View Shop in South Street Axminster has been awarded a five-star food hygiene rating every year since opening its doors in 2020.
The Food Standards Agency website says the store was inspected in March 2024 and rated Very good for Cleanliness, Good for the management of food safety and Very good for hygienic food handling.
This lovely little shop sells the best in organic fruit and vegetables, and as the name implies, many quality local products such as juices, jam, chutney, honey, coffee, tea, ice cream and sorbet, plus dairy and bread mostly to order.
Not Just Veg is run by Amanda Hoden, Her shop in South Street sells organic and local fruit and vegetables and much more including organic milk, cream and yoghurt, organic bread to order plus jams, jellies, marmalade, chutneys, local honey, eggs, and homemade soups.
Amanda brings great produce and goods to Axminster, with a great shop to get your quality fruit/ veg and so much more.
The shop has also won a Silver and Gold retailer award by Food Drink Devon.
Mandy is knowledgeable about the produce in her care and is happy to help with menu suggestions for unfamiliar vegetables and fruits.
Packaging is kept to the minimum and biodegradable plastic is used for bagging salads and paper grocery bags are available for use.
East Devon District Council Environmental Health Officers gives businesses a rating on the following factors; handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities, how food safety is managed.
