A film shot in Beer will have its Devon premiere at the Mariners’ Hall on Thursday, May 16.
‘Blue’, by Somerset director David Smith, tells the story of a father and son who are struggling fishermen, and focuses on their relationship.
Viewers will recognise the local beach, cliffs, fishing boats and Beer Fisheries.
The screening will be hosted by Beer Film Society. David Smith will be attending, along with lead actor Paul Breen who also produced the film. David will introduce the film and take part in a question and answer session afterwards.
The screening will be free to attend but donations will be invited for the Seaton Beer & District branch of the RNLI.
Kevin Fahey, chairman of Beer Film Society, said: “Even if you are not a regular to our monthly film nights, please come along to see our wonderful Beer on the big screen and give David a warm, Devon welcome. It should be a terrific evening.”
Doors will open at 6.45pm and the film will start at 7.30pm. The bar will be open and ice creams from Baboo Gelato will be on sale.
To book a seat or a table, email beerfilmsociety@gmail.com before Monday May 13. Alternatively, just turn up on the night.
