Honiton Camera Club is celebrating a triumphant season following multiple victories in external competitions.
The club, which forms part of the over 80 strong Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF), successfully participated in several events.
In the annual Honiton v Maldon Battle in February, which is an open projected image competition, the team won both legs with final scores of 513.5 and 470.5 respectively. This contest involved the simultaneous display of images which were each scored out of 10.
On March 3, the work of talented individual members was showcased at the WCPF Knightshayes competition. The event required entries to illustrate the set subject of "Water In All Its Forms".
Lynda Piper, a valued club member, was awarded a Highly Commended certificate for her photography, "How The Dart Flows". Also within March, at the WCPF’s annual Members Exhibition, Piper's digital image, "In A Twirl", was accepted, along with David Faulkes's print, "C3 to D5 by K9".
Faulkes's entry further managed to secure a Highly Commended certificate. The exhibition is set to take place at Uffculme and Newton Abbot in May.
Most recently on April 6, Faulkes distinguished himself once more by clinching a win in the WCPF Audio Visual Competition, specifically in the Short Sequence category.
His winning entry, "You Helped Me Fly Again", earned him the prestigious Coote Cup.
Despite being spread as far as Bristol and St Ives to Barnstaple and Dorchester, the WCPF managed to maintain a sense of unity and fostered the presentation of superior work by its committed members.
These members produce either prints or digital images, judged by professionals residing outside of the WCPF area.
The winning images are available for viewing on the club’s website, as well as its Facebook page.
The Camera Club, which convenes bi-weekly on Fridays at the Honiton Methodist Church, warmly welcomes interested parties to get in touch via their online platforms for more details.
