A vacant seat on Axminster Town Council will be filled by the process of co-option.
The town council has been advised by East Devon District Council that no petition was lodged for an election to fill the vacant Raymonds Hill ward seat.
This means the vacancy must be filled by co-option, which means the new councillor will be selected by existing members of the town council.
Individuals looking to champion community concerns are invited to get in touch with the town council via phone, email, or in person to discuss the role.
The council said it will be able to discuss the position and run through the nomination and eligibility process.
Nominees have until midday on May 7 to get their applications submitted.
If nominations are received, the council plans to co-opt the successful candidate at the Annual Meeting scheduled for 7pm on May 13 at the Guildhall.
