A New exhibition at Lyme Regis Museum’s Rotunda Gallery incorporates items washed up on the shore by the ocean.
‘Scavenged finds from Black Ven’ is the name of the new exhibition, which will run from April 2 – May 23.
It features artwork by popular local artist Christine Allison, who said: “Each object, has a story, a history. I like to arrange these treasures into assemblages, juxtaposing unlikely pieces together; making new relationships between fragile, decorated fragments of china and weathered shapes of metal, richly coloured with the patina of time. These assembled treasures then become the subject matter for my artworks. Through my drawings and paintings, I celebrate their unique beauty and give them another life.”
Along with the exhibition, Christine will be running two weekend workshops, on Saturday they will go scavenging to Black Ven at low tide and collect objects, and then on Sunday they will make drawings inspired by the previous day's findings.
The workshop dates are April 27-28 and May 11-12, with eight places available for each weekend and £65 a person.
