The footpath underneath West Walk is currently closed to pedestrians, while contractors work to secure the cliff from erosion.

East Devon District Council contractors are currently inspecting the cliff and working to secure it from further erosion.

A large tension crack has been identified in the cliff, meaning that the earth around it must be removed.

EDDC said: "Until this work is completed, and the area is made safe, the walkway below will remain closed.

"We will provide updates as work nears completion."

The footpath is closed and a temporary diversion is in place while the work is carried out in the quieter winter months.
