A bus has been 'completely destroyed' after catching fire on the A35 near Axminster this morning (February 13).
Crews from Honiton, Colyton and Dorset were called to the A35 near Shute at 8.35am after reports that a single-decker bus was 'well alight' near Taunton Cross.
The A35 has been closed in both directions as crews fought the fire. Traffic is being diverted by police officers through Dalwood and Stockland.
The fire is now extinguished, but the A35 is still blocked in both directions, with heavy traffic in the area. Recovery of the destroyed bus is underway and the road surface is being assessed for damage.
