The town council council has confirmed a road closure that will impact traffic in Axminster town centre in March.
The closure is scheduled for two working days, between Thursday 21 and Friday 22, on the Churchill to Membury minor road in All Saints.
The route closure is necessitated by USL, a utility contractor working on behalf of BT Openreach.
USL have to replace a telegraph pole at the location which, due to Smallridge Road's narrow width, will lead to an unavoidable full route closure for the works to be safely executed.
USL has assured that the public and businesses potentially affected by the closure had been consulted in accordance with advised protocol by Devon County Council before the road closure application was submitted.
An accompanying diversion plan is expected to provide clarity on the affected routes.
Concerned residents have been advised to register their issues with the council, with no immediate need to respond unless there are outstanding concerns.
An Axminster Town Council spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of a road closure in All Saints (on the Churchill to Membury minor road) that potentially has an impact on town centre traffic.
"The closure is not until March 2024 but we thought that residents should be aware."
